Whoa! Trans is not a trend. Please don’t feel pressure to identify as trans. This is subversivism. More typical identities, like cis, are no less superior than “subversive” identities, like trans.
And then there are the people who are paranoid of trans BECOMING a trend and putting down people who come out as trans after they see a trans character on TV or something. Um… maybe that trans character just influenced them and made them realize they weren’t as alone as they once thought?
Yeah, no one should ever judge people as not-really-trans.
However, I do think the fear of trans becoming a trend is justified, because I do think the appropriation of trans identities has been a huge problem recently.
